Dougie’s Story

Do you have food for me Mum?

Our beautiful little 3 month old miniature Hereford steer, Douglas, has found a new home with Carol and Ros. He was hand-raised from a day old, quiet as a lamb, loves a cuddle with arms wrapped around his head, licks your face if he can (that furry tounge hurts!).  He’s a ‘loves a brush and scratch’ type of guy.

Theres got to be food here somewhere..

We gently taught this mini Hereford steer to lead, which is great, using the Pat Parelli, patience and persistence, horse training method.  We haven’t trained any other mini calves to lead in the past as they just follow anyway, but will do so again when we can. After his first lesson, Dougie just walked like a dog, albeit a bit slowly until its towards his bucket and his little feet speed up then!!

Thanks, Mum, those calf nuts were delicious!

For more information on Miniature Herefords we have for sale, please contact Chris on 0409 691 053 during work hours or 08 8380 5343 after hours as we have very little mobile reception at home.

Is there food in that camera?
